Outreach and Missions

At All Saints’ we believe that God calls us to be more than just a community that worships together once a week. The Gospel is clear that we are expected to tend to one another in time of need. We participate in a number of outreach and missional efforts.

Food Pantry

As followers of Christ, we strive to “love our neighbors” in real and tangible ways, to “feed the least of these” in thought, word, and deed. Therefore, as a supplement to the Grenada Food Pantry, All Saints is committed to maintaining a small food pantry at the church to serve those in need on emergency occasions. With our “Little Red Wagon” collections on the fourth Sunday of each month, as well as other food and financial provisions of the parish, we keep our food pantry stocked with canned goods and non-perishable staples in order to distribute the goods to those in need who are passing through Grenada, as well as residents of Grenada and surrounding communities who are having difficulty making ends meet. With limited space and supplies, as well as our intention of “emergency” outreach, our parish food pantry is open every Tuesday and Thursday, as well as in cases of emergency. Those who seek assistance are asked to provide some form of identification. In turn, individuals are provided one bag of groceries, no more than two or three times in any given year, depending on circumstances.

In addition, through offerings of food and resources, All Saints strives to support outreach efforts of the Grenada Food Pantry and the Grenada Soup Kitchen. And we try to help connect those in need with these community resources.

St Nicholas Treasure Chest

Every year at Christmas, families gather together to spend time with one another and to exchange gifts of love. Some families are more fortunate than others, but even in our small town of Grenada, some families are burdened with hardships that prevent them from giving the so popular physical gifts of toys, dolls, games, and sports items. To help our neighbors, we at All Saints’ Episcopal church have created an outreach program to provide these physical items to the families that must choose between a meal or a toy for their children at Christmas.

Our parish coordinator for St. Nicholas Treasure Chest is Mary Duncan Hall.

All Saints House

All Saints House, an independent-living housing ministry that supports elderly and disabled persons, was founded in the mid-1980s by All Saints Church and the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi in conjunction with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Located on Historic Main Street across the street from All Saints Church in Grenada, All Saints House is comprised of forty-four (44) residential apartments, four (4) of which are accessible to those who are physically disabled, and a bright sunroom for residents to enjoy fellowship and community activities. All residents of All Saints House have to meet HUD requirements in order to ensure that our program is serving those in the greatest need. (Note: Anyone interested in seeking residence must make an application through the office at All Saints House.)

To enhance the lives of the residents, parishioners of All Saints Church reach out by hosting Bingo and fellowship on the Second Tuesday of each month, hosting monthly Friday night Cookouts during the warmer months, as well as inviting residents to come to celebrations at All Saints, such as our Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and a Thanksgiving Feast, especially for the residents.

The management and day-to-day operations of the property are the responsibility of the All Saints House Board, formally the Episcopal Housing and Development Corporation of Grenada, along with a property management company hired by the board.
